Jo Fleet, brand director at Hawksmoor Home and Ganan Kanagathurai, CEO, Itsu will speak about the consumer appetite for on-demand food and drink alongside Deliveroo’s director of national accounts Matt Ring, at MCA’s Restaurant Conference next month.

Tickets are selling fast for the annual sell-out conference, which is now less than four weeks away. Taking place at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square on Wednesday 3 November, the conference returns for its first live event since 2019, and will see sector leaders coming together to network, share vision and strategy, and digest the current dynamics of the sector through a day of keynote speeches, insight presentation, panel discussions and Q&As.

In response to the demand for on-demand food and drink, increasing numbers of established restaurant operators are leveraging their brand awareness to drive incremental sales as part of an omni-channel strategy.

In this panel on the omnichannel opportunity, Hawksmoor, Itsu and Deliveroo will explore the balance of delivery and click & collect alongside dine-in and retail, the opportunity for meal kits and pre-packaged drinks offerings, and why a diverse sales strategy is now a necessity.

Also speaking on the day is KFC’s UK & Ireland MD Paula Mackenzie; Five Guys CEO John Eckbert; Corbin & King CEO Jeremy King; Minister Paul Scully and former Waitrose MD and founder of WorkL Lord Mark Price. The agenda also features panel discussions covering the big issues around property, people and culture, sustainability, and more.

Big Table Group’s property director Matthew Ainger, Popeyes UK’s chief development officer Tom Byng and Itsu’s property director Vishal Talreja will discuss the opportunity for well-capitalised businesses looking to grow in the post-pandemic property market.

Dishoom’s managing director, Brian Trollip and Pizza Pilgrims co-founder Thom Elliott will be joined New World Trading Company’s chief operating officer Natasha Waterfield and UKHospitality’s Kate Nicholls on a panel covering people and culture.

And the hot topic of sustainability will be discussed in a special session featuring Steve Packer, director of supply chain and IT, Pizza Hut Restaurants; Nicola Pierce, head of strategy and responsible business, Burger King UK; Mel Marriott, founder and managing director, Darwin & Wallace; and Mark Chapman, founder and CEO, Zero Carbon Forum.
