Burger King, Azzurri Group, Tortilla, Creams, Bill’s and Big Table Group are just some of the businesses speaking at MCA’s Hostech conference next month.

Taking place on Thursday 22 May, at the Ham Yard Hotel in London, the event shines a light on innovation technology and marketing solutions driving forward the performance of the UK’s eating and drinking out sector.

Headline speakers include Tom James, managing director at Bill’s, who will speak about the restaurant brand’s five-year plan to evolve its tech, while John Colley, executive chairman and CEO, Majestic Wine will discuss how Majestic is leveraging recently acquired wine bar chain Vagabond’s proprietary wine vending tech.

Arslan Sharif, PizzaExpress’ former chief digital and tech officer will look to answer some of the big questions on tech, including where AI is leading us and how hospitality is positioned to benefit.

Tortilla CEO Andy Naylor will be joined by Josef Chen, co-founder of robotics company Kaikau, to share details of its new collaboration and where they see the opportunity both for hardware and AI driven software automation, and how such partnerships may shape the future for restaurants.

While Burger King’s director of digital, Tim Love will be discussing the fast-food chain’s approach to tech innovation alongside frog – with who it has a strategic tech exploration partnership.

There will also be a session from Stonegate, featuring Joe Comiskey digital director, Stonegate, and Laurence Brown, head of insight, MiXR, on the pub and bar group’s successful MiXR platform; and Creams’ chief operations officer Oliver Rodbard will share how the dessert café is building human focused technology as it grows its franchise operation.

The day’s programme also features panel sessions covering digital experiences in an analogue world, the application of AI and the art of the possible, how brands are getting ready for tech growth, and customer relationships, loyalty and the future of delivery.
