Mitchells & Butlers, which owns pub chains All Bar One and O’Neill’s, may be a takeover target.
Shares in the company climbed to 570p as rumours grew that Enterprise Inns might be a potential bidder, along with property tycoon Robert Tchenguiz whose 550p per share offer for the company was rejected earlier this year.
