Cinven may acquire Gondola Holdings, owner of restaurant chains Pizza Express and Zizzi, after a key shareholder agreed to sell.
Hedge fund Boussard & Gavaudan agreed to sell its 22.23% stake to Cinven for 415p a share, ending a stand-off between the two companies.
Gondola’s shares closed up 1p at 412p. Shareholders will vote on the Cinven offer later this month.
