Living Ventures has hired Deloitte to find a buyer for the bar and restaurant company.
Living Ventures owns 13 Living Room outlets, the Est, Est Est group of Italian restaurants and the Bar & Grill steakhouse format.
The Restaurant Group has a 40% stake in the business, which could fetch £40m. The Sunday Times says the current sale process is thought to be in its early stages.
The newspaper says founder Tim Bacon would possibly be keen to buy back the Italian restaurants and steakhouses from the new owner.
