Blonnie Whist, insight director at Lumina Intelligence will take the stage at MCA’s Pub Conference, to share trends in consumer demand, changes in pricing dynamics, and best in class operator menu management strategies. 

The conference takes place on 26 June at The Ham Yard Hotel, London and will feature a full day of presentations and panels, including Q&As with leaders in the pub and bar sector.

With a mission to “make data do more”, Whist has worked in the food and drink insight industry for 10 years, achieving the insight “trifecta” of supplier, retailer, and agency experience, and allowing her to analyse the market from all perspectives.

Building on a Psychology BSc and Culture & Brands MA, she is a passionate advocate for the Food and Drink Industry, and has greedily occupied the head judge position for food at the Publican Awards since 2019 (Best Food Offer 2019-2023 and Best Premium Food 2023).

Skilled in thought-leadership, she channels research into actionable insight that aligns businesses with consumer needs. Celebrated as a Finalist for Market Research Society (MRS) Oppies Award for “Best Response to Covid” 2021 and “Best Data Solution” 2022.

Blonnie has previously won awards for her innovative approach to insight in the Beer, Wine and Spirits category (IWC Innovator of the year 2016 and 2017) In addition to developing and coaching others in creating modern, deep, and actionable insight that inspires and tells a story, Blonnie is a psychologist, painter, and badminton player. You will most likely find Blonnie drinking natural wine in East London.

Sessions throughout the day include Wetherspoons chairman Sir Tim Martin, Greene King CEO Nick Mackenzie and Stonegate CEO David McDowall. With £100m of new funding from Alchemy Partners, and fresh from being promoted to CEO, Heartwood Collection’s Richard Ferrier will also join The Pub Conference line-up. 

Further highlights include a women leaders panel hosted by Karen Bosher, hospitality consultant and ex Greene King MD, and an innovation showcase panel with The Devonshire, Buzzworks and Little Door & Co. 

This year, MCA’s Pub Conference announces it has a new charity partner, Ask for Angela, an initiative adopted at venues around the UK and internationally to help promote safety and wellbeing for anyone who finds themselves vulnerable.
