Oisin-Rogers-and-Charlie-Carroll-to-open-The-Devonshire-pub-and-restaurant

Leaders at The Devonshire, The Little Door & Co, Buzzworks, Toca Social and TNT Sports will come together to discuss how pub and bar companies are creating compelling customer experiences through innovation, at The Pub Conference 2024

Pub and bar companies are using creative food and drink offers, scenic locations and contemporary design to enhance customer experiences, from house party-inspired concept bars, to classic Irish pubs, destination waterside locations, and immersive sporting experiences.

Delegates at this year’s conference at The Ham Yard Hotel, London on June 26, will hear from these dynamic operators on the USPs that are making their businesses stand out from the crowd - in this innovation showcase panel.

The duo behind MCA Hospitality Awards’ Opening of the Year, The Devonshire’s Oisin Rogers and Charlie Carroll join the panel. After a year working for the founders of Wahaca, Carroll founded Flat Iron as a business before launching as a pop up above a pub in east London in 2012. Meanwhile, Rogers made his name opening a series of iconic London pubs - most notably the Guinea Grill in Mayfair.

Joining them, Jamie Hazeel and Kamran Dehdashti,  founders of The Little Door & Co - a young, growing brand pioneering a new slant on the hospitality industry. The company creates venues which feel like walking into a home by styling them around a fictional flat share.

Dehdashti also founded Roxxclub, a pop-up bar & club, and The Azadi Agency, a multipurpose events company. Hazeel is behind consultancy, The Wandering Chef, before which he worked as a private chef.

Offering up further insight is Kenny Blair, managing director at Buzzworks Holdings, one of Scotland’s fastest growing independent restaurant and bar operators. The company offers an aspirational dining and entertainment experience through various formats, including Elliots, Scotts, House and Lido. The dynamic family-run business operates out of its main office in Prestwick, Ayrshire, and is approaching its 10 year anniversary.

Alasdair Collis, director of commercial customers at TNT Sports, and Laurence Stevenson, director of sales and partnerships at Toca Social complete the line-up. Collis has been at TNT Sports (previously BT Sport) since 2012 and believes that the hospitality industry is a key part of the unique DNA of this country.

He has accumulated over a decade of experience working in the commercial sport sector, and has previously held senior positions at TalkTalk, Sky, Accenture and Deloitte.

From the world’s first interactive football games and social entertainment venue, Stevenson brings over 12 years experience in sales & events. He has found his niche in competitive socialising, working at some of the most established brands in the business to strategically grow sales in the UK and to global markets.

As more and more operators invest in technology and aim to deliver more immersive sports experiences, the pair will discuss how traditional sports venues can perhaps take key learnings from new formats within the CompSoc arena to ensure that they remain relevant for what the modern out of home sports fan is looking for.
