The wing specialist has opened its latest store in Wood Green, at The Mall, 159 High Road. The new site will bring over 60 jobs to the local area and host 58 covers. 

With a dynamic youth population and diverse culinary scene, the business said Wood Green is the perfect addition to Wingstop UK’s rapidly expanding portfolio of London restaurants.

Following hot on the heels of two successful openings in South London, the new site bolsters Wingstop UK’s presence north of the river, joining restaurants in Islington, Dalston, Gloucester Road, Beckton and Watford, as well as its flagship site on Shaftesbury Avenue. Next week, it will open its largest restaurant to date at Westfield Stratford City – the UK’s largest shopping centre.

The American fried chicken restaurant chain has selected Festival Place to be the home of its next location. Making its Basingstoke debut, the Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) operated brand is set to open this July, taking a 3,503 sq ft unit on the ground floor of the centre.

With room for over 85 diners, Slim Chickens Festival Place will deliver its casual dining offer, serving fresh hand-breaded buttermilk-marinated chicken cooked to order. Alongside its trademark chicken tenders, diners will also be able to choose from a menu of other dishes, including sandwiches, crispy wings, wraps, salads, sides, and a range of plant-based options. 

Market Halls, Paddington Square

One of the UK’s largest food hall operators has secured a prime location for its fourth London site at West London’s newest destination Paddington Square, set to open in the final quarter of this year. 

The Gees Court backed company currently operates three sites in London – Victoria, Oxford Street and Canary Wharf. The latest addition to Market Halls’ portfolio is nestled within the new mixed-use development the food hall is prominently located in the new 1.35 acre piazza. Market Hall’s 11,000 square feet space will feature eight food traders, two bars, an outdoor terrace and seating for 500 customers. 

Heartwood Inns, Reading

The Rising Sun in Reading has reopened following a multi million pound refurbishment by the Heartwood Collection. The pub has undergone an

extensive renovation in line with its Grade II listed status. Inside, the original bar space has been transformed to create 80 covers with the work showcasing the original timberwork that is a feature of this historic building that dates back to the 13th century. To the rear a new conservatory links the original pub to the old stables which have been converted to create a vaulted ceiling dining room with space for up to 110 diners. 

 

Burger Drop, Sunderland

The affordable luxury burger brand known has announced its newest location in Sunderland City Centre. The new site, located at 12 Derwent Street, will open its doors to the public later this summer. 

The Sunderland location will feature the full Burger Drop menu, including fan favourites such as the Juicy Smashed Beef Burgers, Crispy Fried Chicken Wings and Super Thick Shakes. This is Burger Drop’s fourth confirmed location, since its inception in the winter of 2020.

Donutelier, Carnaby Street

The boutique bakery specialising in handmade doughnuts and pastries, is set to join Carnaby Street later this year. Taking 50 Carnaby Street, Donutelier will open the 1,300 sq ft space in the coming months.

With a particular focus on artisan craftsmanship, Donutelier’s chefs put a modern twist on classic French patisserie whilst retaining a sense of tradition. Donut flavours include Dulcey Pecan, Black Forest, and Vanilla Cookie Cream, alongside a range of croissants and Danish pastries.

It’s Bagels, Notting Hill

The New York style bagel shop, bakery and all-day café is set to launch a second location, opening in Notting Hill this August. The new 500-square-foot location at 120 Kensington Park Road, on the corner of Westbourne Grove, will mark the first expansion of the brand, resulting from the success of the original site in Primrose Hill.

It’s Bagels Notting Hill, like the original site, will feature the classic range of freshly baked house-made bagels that fans have come to need and adore, a familiar counter of plain and flavoured ‘schmears’ (including Martensen’s favourite, jalapeño cream cheese), smoked fish, deli salads and hot and cold drinks.

Shrimp Shack, Camden

The premium seafood concept is opening its second restaurant in Camden in July 2024. It marks the restaurant’s first foray into a franchise partnership, alongside Bluewater Wealth Management Ltd. 

The move to Camden comes as the brand aims to tap into central London locations in order to bring its ‘build your own’ experience to a wider customer base – including visitors to the capital. As with the inaugural Stratham location, Shrimp Shack Camden will focus on bringing high quality, premium seafood to diners at an affordable price in a fun, playful and vibrant environment.

 

Dhakaah, Camden

Dhakaah, a casual dining restaurant in Camden Market’s Hawley Wharf,  will bring Bangladeshi cuisine to a London audience next month.  

The restaurant is a celebration of the street food and specialities of Bangladesh and is named after the country’s vibrant capital Dhaka. The menu is split into bar snacks, small plates and bigger plates, including Beef Kathi Roll, a heavily spiced mezbani beef curry, wrapped in handmade parota

Dhakaah is part of a larger vision to bring Bangladeshi culture and its specific cuisine to the UK, highlighting the individuality and diversity of this often overlooked culture.
