Benugo - John Lewis Oxford Street

Benugo has reported turnover of £123.5m in 2023, the highest in its 25-year history and up from £98.7m in 2022.

The business further reported a strong balance sheet and cash position, ensuring it is “robustly structured” for future opportunities, according to its latest accounts on Companies House.

Benugo operates café delis and restaurants in high street, public space, and workplace environments, with a focus on coffee and ‘simple, well-prepared natural food.’ Its estate includes venues in spaces such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, British Museum, London Zoo, and British Film Institute.

The business exited poor performing locations and worked with key clients to drive mutual benefits, as well as winning new profitable business in 2023.

Gross profit stood at £44.6m, up from £34.1m the previous year.

The operator looks to continue targeting specific public space and corporate accounts.

According to the director’s statement accompanying the accounts: “What makes Benugo unique is that we have combined the flexibility of a contract caterer with the consistency and commercial focus of a high street brand.”
