The UK’s leading hospitality operators gathered at The Guildhall earlier this month (13 March) to celebrate industry excellence at the MCA Hospitality Awards 2025.

Greggs secured two major wins, taking home Consumer Choice and Leader of the Year for CEO Roisin Currie.

Urban Pubs & Bars also claimed a double victory, winning Best Pub/Bar Company, while divisional director Ben Atkinson was named Rising Star.

Other winners included Pizza Pilgrims for Best Restaurant Company, The Devonshire for Best Pub or Bar Concept, and Wingstop UK, which won Best QSR Company following its £400m acquisition by Sixth Street.

Albert’s Schloss took Best New Opening, while Gail’s Bakery retained its title as Best Coffee Shop or Café Group.

Red Engine’s Flight Club won Best Experiential Concept, and wagamama was recognised as Best Omnichannel Brand.

In investment, TDR Capital’s acquisition of Popeyes UK was named Deal of the Year, while Brother Marcus won Emerging Concept. Stonegate Pub Company claimed Best Use of Technology for its MiXR loyalty app.

Special awards went to Caravan for Diversity Leadership, Wahaca for Sustainability, and Clive Watson, who was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the pub sector.

MCA editor Finn Scott-Delany praised the winners, stating: “These awards celebrate the innovation, resilience, and accomplishments that define this fantastic and always evolving industry. The businesses recognised tonight are not only shaping the hospitality landscape today but also setting the standards for the future.”
