Leon has launched what it calls the UK’s cheapest high street coffee subscription.

Roast Rewards will cost subscribers £25 a month, with up to five barista-made drinks available a day.

It will also give members a 20% discount on Leon’s breakfast and all-day food menu (excluding meal deals).

Leon’s Roast Rewards will also allow customers to rack up bonus loyalty points, which are awarded upon subscribing, and on each renewal.

The launch sees Leon go head-to-head with food-to-go and coffee rival Pret A Manger.

Pret was the first to launch a coffee subscription in September 2020 as a way to encourage customers back into its stores following lockdown.

It was originally priced at £20 a month, but subsequently rose to £25, and then £30 in April 2023.

While originally hailed as innovative Pret’s coffee subscription has also been hit with criticism following changes to the offer and a clampdown on subscription sharing.

Mac Plumpton, MD at LEON, said: “We’re so excited to unveil the UK’s most affordable coffee subscription. Get ready for a service packed with flavour, value and great coffee. At LEON we’re all about providing exceptional experiences at an unbeatable value.”

Leon’s Roast Rewards launches today (30 May 2024) and is available to sign up via the Leon Club App.

Leon’s coffee is described as triple certified: organic, Fairtrade, and rainforest-friendly, and sourced from Puro.

Breakfast options include porridges, muffins & egg pots, grilled wraps, fresh salads, burgers, rice boxes, cakes & pastries.
